Browse Hierarchy 7PS512-UDOL: Ergonomics and Design
This module considers ergonomics as a fundamental element of good design.It enables students to apply ergonomics principles and their understanding of human characteristics and behaviours to design issues. The concept of the user, and their characteristics and needs, is placed at the centre of the design process.Applications beyond traditional product/equipment design will also be considered. Ergonomics methods related to design and areas of design application will be reviewed before considering the concept of usability evaluation in depth. A number of case studies will be used to allow students from different backgrounds to apply their ergonomics knowledge to a relevant design domain.Assessment is by coursework.
